Our Services
Gold Coast Fire Door Services has extensive experience testing and inspecting fire doors on the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales. As we are local we understand the effects sometimes suffered by doors and frames installed close the ocean. Regular inspections ensure your doors are compliant at all times and make them fully functional when you need them most!
The Australian Standard requires common area fire doors and unit entry doors to be tested and inspected as per your building class. The usual inspection frequency is 6 monthly and/or annually. It is the responsibility of the owner or occupier to ensure fire door inspections are carried out at the appropriate intervals and fire doors are kept compliant.
An onsite logbook is also required by AS1851 and can be requested by the QFES at any time. GCFDS can supply a compliant logbook as part of the inspection process.
Our quoted price for inspection and testing includes a Record of Maintenance report of all doors tested and a quotation for rectification repairs needed to return any doors to compliance as per Australian Standard 1851.

Some fire doors installed may still contain asbestos material content. Where existing asbestos doors are installed, we can remove and dispose of the existing asbestos doors. No hardware will be removed off the existing fire doors, to ensure a safe work area and safe disposal. An EPA certificate of correct disposal can be provided on request.
We can perform maintenance and repairs to existing frames installed. Hinges may be metal fatigued and worn, we can perform welding repairs to allow a new screw fixed hinge to be installed. We can also perform a range of other frame maintenance works including welding new electric strike preparations. Contact us for any frame maintenance queries.
Gold Coast Fire Door Services can perform majority of fire door maintenance needs. This includes replacement hardware, door realignments or easing, installation of new compliant hardware. We can perform tested and approved deadbolt repairs — contact us to see if this can be completed on your door.
We can also complete repairs to fire doors if you have changed or altered your floor finishes causing a tight or large gap under your unit entry fire door. Contact us to discuss your door requirements.
All new fire doors are required to be tagged and certified as per Australian Standards. All new fire doors supplied and installed by Gold Coast Fire Door Services will have a new certification plate fitted to the fire door. This plate has a unique tag number, year of manufacturing, door manufacturer, hour rating and certifier noted.
Once the door has been tagged, a Certificate of Compliance will be issued on completion of works. This compliance document should be kept in an easily accessible location to form part of the log book for the building. Gold Coast Fire Door Services holds current QBCC licences to tag and certify fire rated doorsets.
All new doors will be primed on the top and bottom prior to installation. Gold Coast Fire Door Services can offer full priming and final painting of doors and frames onsite, colour-matched to existing doors and frames. We can also offer pre-painted doors using our Profiling system. The advantage of this process meaning there are no paint fumes on site and eliminates the need for another trade to attend after the doors are installed.
